First days

Well, yooo.

Actually I did not really feel like writing a blog, but a few people suggested to, and since it is kind of a nice memory for myself, well. Here it is.

First post is very long, because I am here 5 days already.

First things first, the arrival.
To be honest, it was stressful and annoying as fuck. As soon as I left the arrival gates of the airplane - starving for a cigarette and THIRSTY - a woman of a traveling company picked me up and was like "Oh, your bus is driving in 10 minutes, here is your ticket." - Well, ok. Nothing to drink, but up in the bus to Tsukuba, another 2-hours-ride.
I do not want to bother you with the story of finding the correct bus at Tsukuba station and stuff, or finding my tutor, the japanese girl who was supposed to pick me up.
Well, actually she was very kind - and is, still. To put it in Japanese: Kawaii ne!

Yah. Arriving at my room - which is awfully, awfully small - we had to fill out like thousand documents and then went back to the city again to got something to eat.
No break, no anything again - But at least good food and some other people she knew, so the evening turned out quite nice .. and I slept well, afer like 24 hours of being awake.

Btw, this is the view from my dorm-entrance.

Now a few words to my room: It is tiny. Like, see. A bed, a desk, and a washbasin.

I can not even move the chair back when I sit on it. Tried to rearrange the furniture this morning, but nothing else than this seems to fit.

As it is in the first floor, I have those piles in front of my window  - I definetely still have to find curtains, as I feel like being observed all the time ~
Then, there is this very lout voice on my floor. Sounds like an instantly turned on hairblower. I can not even manage to fall asleep well (some ppl know that anywhere else I manage to fall asleep in like 2 seconds.) - And when I do, some other students get the idea of taking a shower. Like, at midnight. Which is also on my floor, so I hear everything and due to that wake up again. NICE.
Oh, and the community "kitchen" looks ugly and does not even have a fridge or kettles or anything except a gasstove.

Next thing which depressed me the first days was.. well.. Tsukuba, the city itself.
As I have been in Tokyo three years ago, Tsukuba has been kind of a disappointment. It is countryside. Like, really countryside, especially the surroundings of the campus. Nobody at university tould me it would be that extreme, even when I asked.
And up to now I haven't found ANYTHING to do in the evenings, which is why I did get bored quickly after having things done in the afternoon. Which is actually good, because it forced me to go to the community center (a center of my dorm district) to meet new people, so at least I do not feel that alone.

As you can see, the first two or three days were very depressing.

But everything gets better anytime, right? I think you just have to get used to it. Which is that, from day to day I am feeling better, kind of...
(Mostly really annoying me atm is that fucking noise outside my room.).
And the best, I am talking Japanese already frequently, not at least because of my tutor.

This is her, helping me with so much registration stuff here :)

And in addition, as nearly everyone here has a bike, my tutur got me one, too.
There it is, my baby :D

It is very convenient, because you are more flexible, and not stuck when you do not want to pay for the bus. And to Tsukuba Center it only takes you about 25 minutes, same amount of time as the bus takes.

And the first days, I used my bike a lot - well, accidentially, because when I searched for the city center, I chose the wrong road and got lost in NOWHERE. This is so me xD

But - using my confusion to my advantage - In this way I managed to find beautiful places, too.
For example, in the following buildings are actually people living in.

So, the last few days consisted of registration stuff, university-orientation, finding stuff for my room, and exploring the city while getting lost (above was not the only time).
I can not wait to drive over to Tokyo, which is like a 40 minutes ride, but there was too much stuff to do here until now.

Andd to explore the nightlife of Tsukuba. I mean, there MUST be anything down in the city, now when I know how to get there xD

At least we managed to find the shopping center in Tsukuba. yaaay.

And a temple.

Oooooh, and this evening a dance crew, guess it must be a club, consisting only of japanese men started training ar our community center for like HOURS. Boy, they were good into breakdancing-choreo-things and stuff.

And to make everyone jealous after this quite normal post, here a picture of the food I had today:
I WAS SO STARVING FOR BOTH SINCE I ARRIVED <3

Oh, and here is a fighting fanta.

Tomorrow the levels of Japanese classes will be announced, and on Friday university starts! Lets see!
